Emotional Freedom Technique

What is this therapy?

Emotional Freedom Technique, otherwise known as EFT or "Tapping" is often described as a needle free version of acupuncture. This revolutionary energy therapy does exactly what it says, it sets you

.......Free.......

Free from unwanted destructive emotions and belief systems that can inhibit your growth.

Free to venture down exciting new pathways previously hidden by negative thought patterns and restricted view points.

Free from emotional ties to traumatic events that can stunt your experience of life in the present and the future.

How does it work?

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, believes;

"The cause of all negative emotion is a disruption in the body's energy sysytem"

EFT works by making adjustments to this flow of energy by gently tapping on various points on the hands, face and upper body. These adjustments effectively change how an individual feels emotionally and physically. Often EFT will work were many other therapies have failed.

It works rapidly, even "one minute wonders". EFT can, in some cases work very quickly, dissolving negative thought patterns and emotions that have been present for years, literally within minutes.

It is relatively painless. The process is highly unlikely to cause an abreaction or healing crisis, there may be varying degrees of emotions experienced during the treatment but they will dissolve and reduce as a result of the therapy.

Results are lasting. Once an issue has been resolved the results usually last.

How was it developed?

EFT, in its present form, was developed by Gary Craig, an engineer from the USA. It has its roots in Thought Field Therapy, which is the brainchild of Dr Roger Callahan, a psycologist, also from America.

Dr Callahan developed the technique after working with a patient suffering from a phobia of water. His interest in energy therapy (the use meridians or energy pathways, as in acupuncture) caused him to "tap" on a particular point on the face. This resulted in the patient experienceing a rapid reduction in her fear, which was permanent.

Gary fine tuned Dr Callahan's original techniques and EFT was born.

It is now recognised throughout the world as a legitimate alternative to conventional medicine, often achieving results when other therapies and treatments have had limited success. Many Doctors and Psycologists in America have trained in EFT and now routinely offer it to their patients.

EFT can often resolve, in a short space of time, issues that "talking" therapy (counselling) may take many months to address.

What can EFT treat?

EFT can offer effective relief from just about any condition,
